Perhaps you should try picking up a girl solo and then suggesting the idea of a threesome with the boy. Kind of ease them into it. Clearly you have had luck in the past, and it would seem that the delta here is your guy. So, take him out of the initial equation if possible and just be honest with anyone you think might be interested after the attraction to you is clear.

Also, I find it almost comical that you are having trouble in this area.

Also also, in my limited experience in the threesome department, I found it best if the 3rd was someone that was already known by one of the 2 main parties (caveat: some people will swear that this is a bad idea but it worked for me). You don't have any female friends or just acquaintances that might be down for this?
