so I'm a hypochondriac and I want to get that out of the way before I say this but I'm bleeding and my period isn't supposed to happen until the end of the month...around the 25-31 and I am having some light blood now. I don't think there's anyway I could be pregnant as I took a pregnancy test fairly recently and so I doubt it's anything like that but i have been pretty stressed out by a recent breakup and other family problems and life changes. Could that be the reason I'm bleeding or does anyone have a better explanation. I get myself too scared over dumb stuff so tell me if I am being dumb. thanks

Are you on any type of birth control? Hormonal methods can cause spotting.

Stress can do funny things to your body as well, but I would see a doctor to be safe.

It's probably either your period coming early or something called spotting, which is light blood flow between periods. Usually not a big deal but you should go to a doctor if it's worrying you because stress can only make it worse.

stress can definitely mess with your cycle. I would see a doctor, though. Sometimes a pregnacy test will show negative if you aren't very far along. usually the ones from the store don't work until a day or two after you miss your period.

Think its normal.(stress, hormone related as mentioned) But if continues for more than a week, Id go get checked out.

I know that when you hang around the same ol females, whether friends, coworkers, family, you pick up something as where you all have your cycle close to the same time. Doesnt always come on schedule.

Stress can do things like that to a body but it can also be a bit more serious. I had precancerous cells on my cervix that had to be removed and one of the things that made me go to the doctor was irregular spotting after intercourse.

Don't panic but listen to your body and if you are concerned then see a dr.

Good luck!

As far as I know, stress CAN throw off your cycle. It never hurts to call a clinic or something, though--I've called for dumb things too, and people are nice about it! Good luck.

call your OB/GYN and ask them. if you're seriously worried, that should be the first thing you do

My ex had the same problem, and she went to a doctor. All he did was suck up all the blood. Yeah. Don't ever go to Dr. Acula.

if you had "stabbed" yourself hard enough that you were bleeding, you would be in so much pain that you would KNOW that something is wrong.

Thistle is right, you're just spotting. *too much info coming, avert your eyes* i'm actually spotting right now too, and my period isn't due for another two weeks. sometimes spotting just happens for unexplained reasons. unless its heavier than your heaviest period AND lasts for several days, don't worry about it.

if it happens again next month, or is regular enough to be annoying, bring it up with your doctor. if you're on the pill, certain hormone combinations can cause spotting in some people. and like i said, sometimes it can just happen for no apparent reason.

did anyone else think this was going to be a dilemma regarding punctuation?

also: see a doctor if you are worried, but from what i understand, spotting usually isnt anything to be scared of.
