Boys - trimming your short & curlies - how short?

The nature-loving man in me has prevented me from shaving anything other than my face todate. Now I'm thinking about taking the plunge and trimming my nether regions back some. As a n00b in this regard, how short should I go? I'm definitely not going to attempt the pre-pubescent look myself - would look ridiculous on me frankly. I was thinking of trimming back the stuff which protrudes from between an index and middle finger to start with - hopefully that makes some sense

Thoughts? How short do you go? Is there any truth in the old wives tail that it grows back faster once you start trimming?

Im never gonna use one of them ever again. A rather nasty injury happened before when i attempted it with an electric hair trimmer. Blood was spilled

Just make sure you set aside plenty of time to do this or else you'll find you're in the same boat as ColinC.

I use an electric hair trimmer. I cut them rather short, I use the second lowest setting on my trimmer.

I always felt it was safer than using scissors or a razor...

I do the extra wide landing strip, #1 or #2 guard, shave the balls and creases clean.

See I don't have an issue with those who want to go hairfree, but that's not going to work for me. I'm far from being a gorilla, but I do have hairy legs all the way up and a hairy arse - lucky me, cough. So my fear is I'd start and then never be able to stop and that could be seriously hard work. Hence I'm wanting to go shorter but not nekkid.

I always use a clipper too, it's just easier for me. Just be careful, take your time, and you get better at it.

Hair free is far more sexually benefitting than visually appealing. Skin on skin down there during sex with a freshly shaved partner is heaven.

A word to the wise... Use non-scented, alchohol free, oil free moisturiser right away afterward. Neutrogena sensitive stin moisturiser is what I use. I hear coco butter is good too, but I prefer modern technology. Slather it on, esp the first time, and air dry for an hour. Also, be very very selective of your shaving cream, and for the love of Pete, shave WITH THE GRAIN.

I'm rather hairsuite myself but I trim downtown qith an electric razor, set on stun (#1). My wife loves it. Not only does it feel good, it makes your gear look a little bigger. No so much that you nottice, but just enough that she 9or he) will take notice.

Yep, sounds like the drill is already numerated here: electric trimmer above, old-fashioned razor on the under-carriage. People are so afraid of shaving their balls, but I've seriously never cut myself once in years of shaving them. Besides, it's a good psychological trick too -- let yourself get a little hirsute down there and then trim all up and your girlfriend will want to play and play with the new smooth toy. Always makes for a fun encounter right after a "manscaping" session.

I just trim with scissors every few weeks - shaving is too much trouble I think, (and is more of a girl thing) - I just pull up tuffs and clip till its gone (this is really disgusting isnt it?) Id say start with your finger width plan, and see what you think - you can always go shorter - and dont forget the adjacent areas

use an electirc hair trimmer...then you can trim until you get the length you're looking for.
