Whoever first compared getting fake titties to getting tattoos/piercings is out to lunch. No comparison.

The real issue for me is not the implants per se -- because if they are done well like Amina's (I think that's her name) then it's cool -- they are a normal shape, just big, and quite pretty! I just feel bad for women with big enormous porn star ones that they feel the need to showcase at all times, even at the grocery store. It's just so extreme. I don't care what anyone says, but someone with a healthy psyche does not do this.

Perhaps the worst part of all is that society reinforces this. Men gape, fall all over themselves, and women do too sometimes, at the sight of exposed bulging (veiny!)cleavage. It's weird, like a train wreck, you just can't help but look, and this gives the owner of the boobage power. I guess if you're not smart enough to earn your power the old fashioned way, you (or your credit card company) can just buy it. Weird. Sorry for the meandering thoughts on sociological psychology this morning.

Hate them. I like the idea of functional breasts, not just hood ornaments.

There are lot of things I dislike about myself...physically, If I had the opportunity to change myself by snapping my fingers, I would...but in the end I'd have a hard time doing something so vain as plastic surgery, when there are people in the world who don't have enough to eat. I don't want to be that person.

If it was chump change maybe..but it's not.

How, exactly, are fake breasts non-functional?The give milk and pleasure, and that's about all any breasts do...

that's all yours do?? mine act as satellites.

i am not so much for them. i think it just shows that the person is shallow. i could understand if they had a mastectomy and wanted to even them out.

So it's shallow to make them bigger but just fine to make them even? And what the hell is so wrong with wanting to change the way you look?

Check out these earlobes:

I find these to be the ear equivalent of enormoboobs. Would you say Twwly doesn't have a healthy psyche because she stretched her earlobes to be WAY WAY bigger than your average earlobes? She's really showcasing her earlobes there. Look out! She must be crazy!

So women get implants to have power? It's not so they can, say, enjoy their body more?

I don't get the whole implant debate. People who say they don't like them always claim that they prefer women for who they are, regardless of their breast size - sooooo - why can't you REALLY like women for who they are - regardless of their breast size (i.e. just because she had implants, she's no longer who she was)?

I think as long as the woman got the implants for herself, to make herself feel good, then who gives a flip? We get haircuts, exercise, diet - no one cares. But get some tatas, and everyone has an opinion. And guys who claim they can tell the "difference" - again, I ask you - shouldn't you be deciding whether or not you like a woman for her, rather than on how you think her breasts feel?

The difference between getting a tattoo and getting breast impants is there, even if the end result is the same (increase your esteem/attractiveness/sexiness). Now please understand when I have this mental image of offensive breast implants, it's all the triple-Ds I mentioned before. People who have normal sized, tasteful ones don't count because it's not in your face. Tattoos and piercings can often be hidden and you can see what you think is a totally straight up person who might look a whole lot different naked. You can totally disguise that part of yourself if you want or need to. People with big ol' falsies can't. They are always right there, making a hell of a loud statement, whether you like it or not. It screams that you want to be viewed primarily as a sexual object (which may or may not be your goal). I know a woman who has huge ones and they look ridiculous on her frame. She wears a normal fitted t-shirt, no cleavage, and she still looks absurd. She is a nurse practitioner, long blond hair, lots of makeup, and she complains to me when the male patients hit on her and make lewd remarks. She's a nice lady so I don't say anything but I think, well, duh, look at the way you present yourself. You get back from the world what you give to it.

And please, keep in mind I am talking about extremes. There are plenty more women who get tasteful breast implants that you'd never suspect were fake and then there are plenty of people who get tattoos and piercings that can't be hidden and they have to accept whatever responses they get in the world to their appearance. It's not fair but that's the way it is.

In one sentence, EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. Words to live by!

OK. Relax. So defensive. Once again, I was talking about the extremes -- and women who get huge ones and parade them around are into the power the boobs gives them, bottom line. People who get normal ones, who don't dress like strippers at the gas station, don't fall into the categories I'm describing.

And to compare Twwly's ears to enormoboobs (which is an awesome term) is (no pun intended) apples to oranges. When I'm talking about psychological pathology I'm referring to the people who really feel the need to have their big huge tits front and center at all times. Yes, I think that's weird. Yes, I think there's a problem.

I like a woman to have confidence, it is a major turn on for me. So if she gets that confidence from getting fake boobs, then so be it. Same thing with a tattoo or a piercing, or if she wants smaller boobs. Its all the same when you boil it down to the elements, modifications to the body to make the girl feel better about herself.

I have a friend who is going to get implants because she would feel better about herself. I support her, even though to my eyes, she doesn't need them. But its not up to me to decide or criticize.

That's just my take, and by no means the definitive answer.. just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

But I don't think it is apple to oranges. When I see someone in public with huge earlobes I can't keep my eyes off of them. They're distracting and fascinating.

I also don't understand why having HUGE tits is so fucked up. I think huge tits are really really sexy. If a girl naturally had breasts that big and enjoyed them, would you think the was weird for not getting them reduced?

Breast implants, like every other "beauty product", depend on the person for some people it may be a mistake for others it can turn out good.

I never ware makeup because I think I look better without it, but I do put product in my hair because I think my hair looks better when it's not frizzy. I got my navel pierced because I thought my belly button looked too small compared to the rest of my torso. I don't remember what my nipples looked like before I got them pierced, but I am happy that they draw more attention to my breasts because I really like my breasts a lot.

I used to hate the idea of breast implants because I assumed that people would get them done so they would look better to other people. But I’ve come to realize that if your motivations are your own & not influenced by how you want others to see you, you can't really go wrong.

i am not a fan of the rock hard jobs. i don't like the fake j cups yada yada are attractive. but different strokes for differnet folks. i like big boobs, natural or fake, but still think there is a point where it becomes a bit of a joke. at the end of the day if i don't like it i don't look at it. simple. i don't like brussel sprouts so i don't eat them. doesn't mean that people shouldn't be allowed to eat brussel sprouts cause i don't like them. i know plenty of girls with good jobs and bad ones. my grandmother had her tits removed because her implants leaked. but despite this i wouldn't discourage or encourage a girl who was contemplating the procedure.

it is her body.

I think breasts are one of the most beautiful things in nature. (I'm sure that's evolutionary programming.) When i see fake ones I don't see breasts at all. I don't see an insecure woman... I have a more visceral reaction and see androgyny. (Now obviously one doesn't alway know for sure... but the mind quickly forms a judgement and the emotional reaction follows.) And it's not about size... it's about the beauty of the natural breast, the shape, the reaction to gravity.

I get grossed out by hugely strected ears and big plugs too... but those since that's not part of the mainstream beauty myth it's not an issue.

I don't see an insecure woman... I see neither insecurity nor a woman. And if I'm all distracted by that I'm not seeing the person either.

That said OF COURSE people have a right to modify their bodies. But there's the whole media culture and several industries pushing the idea that augmentation is attractive when to me, aesthetically it is the most unattractive thing a woman can do. What they call "enhanced" I see as mutilated. That's not hyperbole, that's what I see. I realize it's a personal reaction and others differ...

What Al says about ears actually says it well for me. And if ears were my favorite part of the body and big strected ears were mainstream, i'd feel exactly the same.

In fact, I noticed a woman's ears the other day and realized it was because THEY were natural--completely piercing free. And though I think piercings are cool and attractive, the absolutely natural ear was just stunning to me.

seriously, 6 times??
its sad, but you've got to wonder like....why?

honestly im happy to get any boob! fake or real, but the thing that bothers me the most is the size, why have a lot of implants got to be so big? it really turns me of frown , if your going to get implants at least make them in proportion to your size.

small and perky, that's were it at smile

Fake boobs can look gorgeous and they can look bad.
I personally don't like the way they feel (it's squishy and all but there's no replacement for actual booby tissue, I don't like the feeling of the silicone, feels somewhat like a water balloon).
I don't understand why anyone really cares outside of one's personal preferences. It's not my job in life to criticize someone for something they elected to have done to their body.

I like to think on fake boobs. Or real boobs, for that matter. They make very nice pillows for my head while I think.

More seriously, while I think getting a boob job is in general perfectly okay and not unhealthy (psychologically speaking), I also think that for some people a boob job can be an expression of underlying issues that the boob job may or may not address. I'm not sure it's fair to judge the psychological healthiness of a boob job by the size of the resulting boobs.

Boobs boobs boobs.
