What makes a man say "She's hot" And why is "Being hot" attractive?

I suppose different people have different thoughts, but I want to share some of my delusional findings with aspiration to obtain new views that can help me understand more. I am no professional. I know that geographically, I reside in a state that's fast paced and where stereotypes would claim our residents are more arrogant, rude, pushy, and aggressive than most rural and west coast areas.

I just received a phone call from my friend who is locked up, so it is to be noted that he is constantly around men with a lot of time on their hands.

He calls me up and expresses his belief that female inferiority to physical strength causes them to compensate by trying to be mentally cunning and often manipulative.

I personally am not fond of love at this point in my life, so to a guy like me, I'm surrounded by a lot of girls that are attractive, but have more issues than I'm willing to deal with.

My ways are selfish, but I have a dream which is bigger than myself and according to my views, love at my age is a distraction. However, I have physical needs and I address them by going after cheap thrills and loveless hookups.

I was dwelling on the issue in my off time for a couple of days when I felt an overwhelming uncomfortable thought stick in my head..

It's wrong, but I tend to believe unless proven wrong, that hot women not only let it get to their head, but women that aren't hot compensate for what society deems as hot by enhancing and improving their personalities as with too often their skills to inflict damage.

Men are no different with compensation. It is also a belief of mine that men who aren't in hard manual labor fields and that are enhanced with hormones and proteins and regular work out habits are often compensating for something. Maybe insecurities with depression stemming from such areas as penis size, maybe height, maybe intelligence.

Separation from Girls 18+ to Women is noted only to draw a line between those who have taken the steps required to shine internally versus externally.

Women who are pretty -- tend to be: Apparently innocent yet more realistically experienced in pain, therefore more repellent to my attraction.
Girls (18+) who are pretty -- tend to be: Tainted by pain.

Women who are hot -- tend to be: Not so pretty in the face. With moderate effort the body can always be improved, but aside from cosmetics the face is considerably harder to change reflection and some would argue that eye's do not lie. Therefore, my attraction rises as risk of being subjected to mental anguishes decreases.
Girls (18+) who are hot -- tend to be: Caught up in trends often with a condescending attitude.

Women who are pretty and hot -- tend to be: Fighters; a never ending struggle of fighting within. Less attractive as the little experience had with this type shows probability of being bi polar or schizophrenic.
Girls (18+) who are pretty and hot -- tend to be: Highly influenced and torn between right and wrong.

Women who are not pretty -- tend to be: Progressively hotter until middle aged.
Girls (18+) who are not pretty -- tend to be: More adept to their environments and less popular.

Women who are not hot -- tend to be: More pretty, dependable, considerate, and grounded.
GIrls (18+) who are not hot -- tend to be: Personable and less popular.

Women who are neither pretty nor hot -- tend to be: Highly intelligent with a risk of being smarter than the bliss that comes from being ignorant. Therefore, once I mature to the point I want to settle down, I'm likely to target this group.
Girls (18+) who are neither pretty nor hot -- tend to be: Apparently not attractive. This group has always been neglected by society outside family and like minded friends.

Going by the title of this thread; every person has little quirks or physical attributes that draw them to someone. Some people find personality "hot" whereas others are attracted to say huge boobs.

My inquiry is why are the women in Maxim considered hot? I'm starting to pick up a trend where very young and inexperienced women are labeled as such where as other celebrity type women in related magazines are considered sexy instead. Hot to me, has changed from simply attraction to a specific type of woman who shows harmless and unobjectionable qualities. Simply put, Easy going girls. I do not mean sluts.

On the other hand, sophisticated and potentially very hurtful women are also hot on a personal level, but generally speaking I would imagine men wouldn't come out and say such a thing as it seems somewhat emasculating.

All I can say is that the women I know/have known, do not fit into those categories. I know some who I'd call beautiful, who are the nicest people I know, and some who are less attractive physically, and also not attractive in terms of personality.

This is a severe rationalization of a topic that a lot of people are obsessed about. What makes someone hot is very particular to the individual, no? So your categorization of women (and that smidgeon on men) is heavily based on your own growth period and experience of the past, which you freely admit, "I personally am not fond of love at this point in my life, so to a guy like me, I'm surrounded by a lot of girls that are attractive, but have more issues than I'm willing to deal with."

That said, you need to relax on the 'cunning characteristic' bit. Men are just as manipulative as women are, you just see what you want to see because you need to see it that way right now. Deal with those issues inside you first before you spin theories and categorizations on how different types of women and their manipulation tactics work because they are 'weaker'.
