I feel neutral about transgendered people and I think that's how most of them would want it. Later in my college years I became friends with a really intelligent transgendered girl. Early in our friendship, I kept waiting for the opportunity to discuss my admiration and respect for her, but as time wore on, I eventually realized it didn't actually matter all that much. She was who she was and I never got the impression that she believed her gender identity to be anything noteworthy (outside of the contentious realm of societal norms of course).
This isn't to say, however, that I feel neutral about the rights of transgendered people...for the record.
