the one on penis size is pretty decent, the part that had the girls model their ideals penis out of clay just made me more sad though. In fact, the documentary pretty much made me want to just go hide and never try to have sex with a girl agian....

Really disturbing, the 21 year-old girl who had this procedure done (for all the world to see I might add) was really sad. Her sister gave her shit about how she looked, and her guy friends at the clubs did too. Her sister is a cunt, and the guys are douche bags.

The whole thing brings up the fact that people are being judged by something they have no control over. A man has no control over the size of his penis, and a woman has no control over how her labia develop. They just are.

In the penis movie, most of the men were insecure about their size because they believed women were judging them on it. How do you convince women that penis size doesn't matter? Or is that a lost cause, and men just have to learn to love their dicks despite what women think/want?

I think it's similar to women's body image issues, in that people are being told to accept themselves, but no one is really pushing the opposite sex to develop more realistic expectations.

How much of it is women being honest about their wants, and how much is them mouthing what they think they're supposed to want?

Off topic observations from the first doc:

1. I always assumed that dick wasn't a slang term for penis in England because well....spotted dick.

2. Also, watching the director with that sandwich board, I was reminded of the stark contrast between law enforcement in Europe vs. the U.S. If he had done that here, I have little doubt that it would have ended with an unmerciful, anally administered tasering and the addition of his name on the sex offender registry.


On topic, I thought that the part with the girls sculpting their "ideal" cock was very telling. The bit where the girl said that the ideal is only what she thinks of for one night stands is pretty accurate for most women. With the exception of a few women I know, a big dick is a novelty we might want occasionally but don't necessarily want to live with.

That's a good point. I can't say how much of it comes down to social programming, but I think at least part of it is women being honest about what they find sexually satisfying (of course, all women have different preferences).

What I was saying that got cut off is that, It was interesting watching the documentary about the concept of the perfect vagina. I honestly never have really given much thought to how vaginas look I always thought they were all normal regardless of their appearance. It is weird that any guy would knock how a vagina looks considering that its the woman that decides if a guy is ever going to see theirs.

Could someone explain to me with a straight face exactly how many genders there are? I'm confused.

Edited to add: I'm completely familiar with transgendered people, but do they constitute a "third" gender in some peoples mind?

I know, but it was still pretty damned ridiculous and I wished the guy making the film had kind of ridiculed them a bit more for that.
