Hell, one of the best ways to tell that a woman is into you is to watch for the hair flip and head tilt maneuver. She's exposing her neck. Like prey.

Is that you, Edward Cullen?

I had no idea who that was so I had to Google the name. I felt really "outta the loop."

Then I saw the results and was glad I wasn't in said loop! biggrin

I particularly enjoy taking the dominant role but sometimes I enjoy lying back and taking it like a good girl (:

Holy cow, this entire thread is tl;dr.

I haven't had the opportunity to explore any of these avenues with partners. I don't really have enough experience.
I can be in control in bed but I am by no means dominant. I like getting my hair pulled, getting scratched, bitten, and told what to do in general. A stripper started choking me for a split second before she realized she was doing it, and I thought it was actually kinda awesome. So I guess I'm a sub? I just haven't found a girl who likes to dominate yet.

I'm definitely submissive (possibly a bit masochistic as well..) in all senses. I hate being in a dominant position. It makes me really uncomfortable, so I avoid it as much as I can. I like the idea of someone having their way with me.

Also..

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I'm not the only girl who gets turned on by (the idea of) calling guys daddy during sex, right? :C

agreed.

i can run the show sometimes but i wouldn't say i'm dominant when i do. i'm also not really rough on my own, but i'm all for roughness from him.

so i will on occasion take the reins but i prefer to sub.

If a girl shows any sign of submission, I'm instantly Dominant. My Domme always will put me in my place. My pet is completely submissive, 100 percent, and oh-so-adorable doing so.

Well, as a GENERALIZATION (note that word) men do trend toward a dominant nature as their comfort zone. We like to think that we've come so far on a cultural level, but we're just a few thousand years removed from running through the jungle chucking spears at lunch and trying not to be eaten.
There are certain species instincts that won't fade for a few dozen millenia at least just due to the speed of evolution. How our brains and bodies respond to stimuli is different because it used to be an issue of survival.
Think about how much of what we do is based on eating or not getting eaten or being able to keep the saber tooth tigers away from the babies.
Women like men to, generallly, be fairly built. Why? We're in an age of blackberrys, lightweight polymers and cars. You don't need to be built like conan the barbarian, or even Conan the Librarian for that matter. That's a species memory of when men needed to be able to wrestle down a wild boar for lunch. It meant a better chance of eating and not being eaten. We don't see it that way today, obviously, but that root genetic response is still there.
We still put our teen girls on the sidelines in little skirts to inspire teams of male players. Why? It's an echo of the past, when you'd put your women on display to the enemy and they'd taunt them about all the pussy they wouldn't be getting when they got run off or killed. They're symbolic of prizes to be won. That's attrocious by today's thinking. But that's where it's from. And we still cling to it and embrace it without much thought.
Doors are pretty damn lightweight these days. Why are guys still opening them?
Hell, one of the best ways to tell that a woman is into you is to watch for the hair flip and head tilt maneuver. She's exposing her neck. Like prey.
Now, that doesn't mean every guy should run around and club women on the head, nor should every woman be a simpering idiot or weak damsel. No way.
But, we DO like to pretend we're farther along than we are, and we tend to get offended and often suffer from rectal contusions when someone suggests that those instincts, which we know scientifically, can't disappear in just a couple thousand years, still affect us. We like to think that we're above them. We're not. We just redefine them and make up faux reasons for why we still do them

.

These are as much, if not more, socialized roles as they are biological.

I prefer being dominant. Actually, it s a really turn on for me when I see girls tied up and most of my fetishes involves ropes/handcuffs etc :p .

Not sure about the switch thing, I have seen some videos of dominant women with dudes... not sure I want my d*** to be stepped on with high heels eeek . If it doesn't involve real torture, I guess I could give it a try though tongue.

i don't switch well at all. i'm a submissive, and although outside the bedroom i'm very determined to be in control, nothing turns me on more than being helpless, or not being able to struggle.. mhmmm,
