does anyone know a scientific answer to this question that has been
gnawing at me for some time now?

once every couple months (with no noticeable regularity.... but it's usually
before i get a period. not every period though),
my boobs plump up almost another cup size, for maybe 3 or 4 days,
and it's really awesome, so awesome i just lie in bed and cuddle them,
but then they return to their normal, not entirely plump state and stay
that way for awhile.

it seems natural enough but shouldn't it happen every month?

so i wonder if there's anything in my diet or lifestyle i can do
to make this happen with more regularity. smile
drink more water?
is water retained in the breasts if you drink a lot of it?
cause i really need to drink more water anyway....

or could it have to do with eating a lot of soy at one time, possibly?
i go through phases of eating a lot of soy, then not eating much soy.

i don't drink cow's milk, so i'm not getting any artificial hormones..
i don't take birth control either, so i know it's not that.

does anyone else experience what i'm talking about?

I'm pretty sure my breasts just fluctuate because they hate me and my bras. I notice that it definitely happens right before I have a period...and being the geek that I am, wanted to know why...apparently the estrogen hormonal changes increase the size of the breast ducts and the progesterone causes growth of the milk glands. So, I guess it's a double whammy.

I'm no expert, but I thought that was part of the whole water-retention thing that goes along with your 28 day cycle. I assume that all of your periods aren't the same every time either.

I have the same boob thing. When you figure out the secret, send it my way. My boobs look pretty awesome right now, but I know they'll be back to their normal little size in a couple of days. frown It makes me sad.

I'm no expert either, but most if not all the women I've been with express that during that time of the month their boobs not only get bigger but the feel more sensitive and/or tender..then they return to normal.

my gf had this happen too, though she thinks hers is due more to the birth control she's on. everytime she goes off her pills and then starts back, her boobs end up more plump and sensitive. i personally, have no complaints at those times. biggrin

I guessed it was just to do with bloating--though I find tummy bloating ends just as boob increasing begins, so I don't know.

Do you eat more when you get period pain? (I do, I get more cravings and period pain can feel a lot like hunger). I think this helps a little tongue
