My cons about having a soon to be wife...

If I list the "Pro's" then I will be online forever typing this up. Soooooo I've decided to list my 2 biggest cons about my soon to be wife and being in a relationship with her. I wanna see what you guys think, and to throw some opinions in if you guys want...

#1. No money, girls are expensive! Especially mine because she's the high maintanice type. ( I am fully aware that I spelled "maintanince" wrong, cut me some slack it's 5:30am here in New York).

#2. I'm not "free" anymore, meaning I can't do what I want without getting repriamded for it. For example smoking, I can't smoke cigarettes anymore, two packs have been confiscated already and I've found myself smoking behind her back which is only while I'm at work since I live with the girl.

Yeah.. so that's it

If a lot of money and cigarettes mean more to you than your wife, then I would think the most sensible thing to do would be to buy a house where you can live on your own and smoke.

I left this thread alone after a while because it was completely missunderstood and no matter what I say about it I'll get torn a new ass-hole either way so here it goes... For the last time, I didn't say I was ever going to do it, the whole thread was about how I would get the sensation do act apon my emotions BUT I would never go that far. Feeling... action... umm yeah two different things

hey man, you're the one marrying a woman you feel like beating.

I guess it's a guy thing, I love my girl but I also use to love the life of keeping the money I earned and smoking, not to say that will ever be more important than her obviously.

Guys refer to this as "the bachalor life"

Ah feeling shmeeling, can't really say anything unless I would hit her... which isn't going to happen. It seems like some people can not tell the difference feelings and actions, either that or this is a very sensitive crowd

You're surprised that spousal abuse is a touchy subject around here? While I think that the holier-than-thou attitude than many have taken toward you is excessive in the least, expecting the internet equivalent of a pat on the back for that kind of talk is setting yourself up for a wee bit of disappointment.

And not to split hairs, but "you left that thread alone" because it was locked and you had no choice. Nor did any of us, darnit.

As for my opinion (which you had requested; I double checked the OP to be sure), you're either not ready or she's not the one.

For #1: girls may be expensive, but worth every goddamn penny. HOWEVER, high maintenance types freak me out, so I guess I can't entirely relate.

For #2: If you want to have or do something, and she intensely dislikes it, you have to decide which you love more, and which you'll miss more when you give it up. Thinking you can have both and that it won't lead to disaster, well that's more optimism than I'm capable of. And if you're already sneaking around on her to do what you want, is that ever going to end? Today it's smokes, tomorrow it's red meat, or strippers, or whatever.

Uh, as far as advice for the OP, first, get thine ass into therapy. Oh, and even if you already live with her, getting married adds a new level of stress, even if you don't think it will. Trust me on this.

that's my point. why are you marrying a woman that makes you feel like being violent? marriage can be stressful, and it already seems like you're not too enthusiastic about the whole thing. how long until feelings turn to action? if you have the "urge to grab her by the hair and just smack her up" and are "starting to lose my patients with this girl", why are you even marrying her?

plus, you smoke behind her back, betraying her trust. you call her high maintenance and make her sound controlling. i mean, really, marriage sounds like an excellent plan.

How high maintenance? Like, spend the rent money on Prada shoes high maintenance?

Also, I can't jump on your ass for envisioning smacking the hell out of your girl, as I have pictured myself punching the fuck out of my husband a time or two. Hell, when I was pregnant and couldn't sleep comfortably, I had very elaborate fantasies of smothering him with a pillow just because he was sleeping so peacefully next to me. Sometimes I want to smack random people that I chance across in the world, as well. But, I may just be a superviolent freak. What you have to wonder, though, is how often you are fighting in general. I mean, if you are fighting every week, and picturing yourself doing it a lot, there are serious problems with your relationship.
