What a shitty bump. I was reading the thread, excited about some good debate and talk that I could take part in... Then I realized the thread was almost 4 years old.

Then one wonders, well, why was this bumped?

And one becomes extremely disappointed by the answer and then complains while referring to himself as one.

So long as you're not repressing any really fucked-up urges, I don't think there's anything to worry about. I got sexually assaulted in real life a few years ago, so it might seem strange to some that I'll happily indulge my partner's rape fantasies (being pinned down, gagged, choked, trying to fight back, etc...). But as far as I'm concerned: if it gets him off, then it gets me off, and I do enjoy the feeling of powerlessness - him being a body-builder, so over a foot taller than me and more than twice my weight. I also found it a really good way of exorcising less pleasant memories of sexual assault. Plus, as far as I can see, if you're capable of talking to a lover about these kinds of fantasies and acting them out in a safe way, you're less likely to go out and actually rape someone than if you try to deny your desires.

Expressing yourself even in dark ways can be a very healthy thing as long as you are careful about it. If you share those feelings with someone who can get into it the same way you can and just as much then its all good. We all have fantasies about certain things like rape that may seem strange or even fucked up but they can be expressed in very arousing and sexually exciting ways. Me and my girlfriend have explored this a lot and its been some of the best sex we have ever had. In many ways its actually helped our love life improve so I'm all for it as long as we have that understanding of who's going to be doing what and we don't actually hurt one another. If you're into it, explore it you may surprised what it does for you.

For those of you who enjoy rape fantasy type stuff...
Don't you think that just the fact that you let yourself enjoy "play rape" trivializes the real thing? I'm sure that if you talk to any woman who really has been raped that she'd find your morbid facinations a little more than disturbing.

Thats kinda like saying that bondage is trivalizes kidnapping or that professional fighting trivalizes those who have been assaulted. Violence and violation can take many forms but I think it has to be done case by case. Everyone has to make their own decision on what is offensive but I don't think there is a line we can draw where everything on one side is good and bad if its on the other side. I know people who have been sexually assualted and she will never have a rape fetish or even let someone touch her throat during sex. As her friend, I chose not to bring that sort of sex play up during discussion out of respect. But my girlfriend enjoys having her throat touched during sex. Its all about trust, consent and love.
