I really think that pole dancing can become some kind of art form someday. If you remove it from the environment that it's associated to and just take it as what it is....it's really a beautiful thing. Maybe in one of my lifetimes i can transform it into an art....like ballet.
Am i just going crazy or do you think it could happen? miao!!

If you want to catch up with ballet, you better start now. They have five hundred years on you.

I was a Stripper for a year, and I got some cool moves on the pole. I think it already is an art. In big cities I've been seeing people take classes to learn how to do it. It was featured on "the view" (I know, shame on me)

It is an art form.

Pole dancing belongs in the olympics. That is some serious gymnastics.

I think most of the girls now how to use it. But sometimes the crowd is so dead, no cheering or anything, so they just give up and walk around for 12 mins.
LOL olymic pole dancing, with the judges holding up numbers. that would be sweet. comeon if ballroom dancing is a sport then this is too

What's wrong with pole dancing as it is now (that is, in strip clubs)? Fucking hot. (See Squeak's set for proof). I used to be able to work a pole in my day

I've been working as a dancer for a while now, but still haven't managed to dominate the pole yet. There are some girls at my club who have been dancing for years and I'm amazed at the things they can do on the pole.

It's unfortunate that some people can't appreciate all the work that goes into dancing. I've told customers how I love watching girls doing pole tricks, and the usual response is "I don't care how well she dances, I just like boobs" or something ridiculous like that.

It's sad that someone going to a titty bar just wants to see titties?

Can the limitation of being tied to the viccinity of a pole really compete with the complexity and variation of ballet? Come on....! Rhythmic gymnatics is shitloads more engrossing than some person on a vertical pole and I don't see that having become a respected art form. Stop trying to attribute too much artisitic quality to something that's really about tit shows with bells and whistles.

Yeah - that's so fucking shocking! They should appreciate the art form of "the pole" and looking at the naked female form for more direct sexual stimulation should be the last thing on their mind biggrin

Why the fuck can't they appreciate both? Yes, I do find it sad if they can't appreciate the pretty direct sexual stimulation of someone performing a sexy dance for them because apparently all they want is to get back to their mummies' bossoms. But I guess that's just me, then.

If someone slapping meat on their head can be considered art, I don't understand why pole dancing, or even rhythmic gymnastics, for that matter, can't be art. Chinese acrobats do what amounts to pole dancing, and that's not a tit show. Dancing with a pole as a prop doesn't have to be about tits.

And even if it IS about tits, why can't it be artistic? Please allow me to direct your attention towards exhibit A, an example of something that's about tits and also has a lot of artistic merit: this fucking website.

Obviously, you've never seen good pole dancing if you don't find it engrossing.

But it's certainly not "sad" that someone goes to a titty bar to see tits.

Now if they went to a Chinese acrobat show to see tits, that's a different story.

It's a little sad, though, that people wouldn't even take the time to say, "Wow, that chick with nice tits is doing some cool things on the pole right now!" but would just leave it at "Why don't you quit with the fancy-schmancy pole crap and just jiggle some titties in my face."

I mean, I'm going to bet that not many strip clubs have dancers who frequently neglect the tittie-jiggling in favor of complex pole routines, so if someone can do something really cool, there's nothing that says you can't think, "Wow, that's impressive . . . and man, she's got some sweet titties! I'ma watch her swing 'round that pole and then pay her some money to come shake them sweet things in my face afterward!"

No, it isn't. It's good that we can agree on something. Can we move on now?

It's already an "art", the original comment about "making it an art" kind of implies that it woudl become a mainstream spectacle like "wow - look what she can do on a pole". I honestly doubt that based on what else isn't mainstream.

I regularly watch chinese acrobats just for the tits biggrin
