If I've learned anything about SG readers since visiting this site, it's that many of them know best. So when I saw that the All Tomorrow's Parties festival is offering fans the opportunity to curate this years May 2007 weekend, I instantly thought this is a job for the SG!

Every person who shells out the quid to buy a ticket to ATP vs. The Fans can volunteer their expertise as to their top 10 bands of choice to play the festival. So far Sparklehorse and Echo & the Bunnymen have signed on. A pretty good head start.

Stupid people should be warned that you probably shouldn't waste your Top 10 asking for bands that no longer exist, and maybe you should think like a curator and not ask for bands which might be a little bit outside the budget's range, like, for instance, The Rolling Stones.

That said, this May 18-20th in Minehead, Somerset, could be the greatest ATP yet! Though the competition with past curators is pretty stiff, with Thurston Moore, the Mars Volta, Stephen Malkmus, and others all taking a stab at lining up the festival.

Maybe we could suggest SG's very own Burlesque show?

Hey, "Comus" you are correct,
but I wouldn't rule out all reunions.
Its fine to waste your vote on it if its a band
that has a small chance of actually regrouping.
It is quite a great honor.
That's why Slint did the whole thing again.

That's a good one.
An EXCELLENT one.
Let's get the word going on UNWOUND!!!!!!

Oh, and this is the full as-of-yet pre-chosen line-up:

BUILT TO SPILL
SPARKLEHORSE
AKRON FAMILY
NOTWIST
ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN
DO MAKE SAY THINK
DEATH VESSEL
BRIGHTBLACK MORNINGLIGHT

The last half will be fan chosen, and of course,
the winning votes don't necessarily get on,
they're contacted and requested to join,
but can say No.
