Say what you will about Andrew WK, the man knows how to have fun. A lot of fun involving white T-shirts, bloody noses, loud music, and stage diving. Andrew threw parties and invited the world and a lot of people actually showed up. Then Mr. WK disappeared.
Well, prepare for his return. Over the last three years, the party planner has gotten not one, not two, but three new albums together. Surprising? Sort of. I mean WK's brand of frat rock is not exactly, ehh, complex. The first of the three releases hits stores in Japan on August 12. Bonzai! No word on a US or UK release just yet, but all three records will see the light of day over the course of the next year.
Want to check out a video? Here's the appropriately titled Not Going to Bed. Big surprise! It sounds like every other Andrew WK song. They really can stretch this schtick out ad nauseum, can't they? At least it's ... fun.
On August 3, Andrew will be throwing "the biggest party yet" at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando. Watch WK pound burgers and fries and scare old ladies, then talk to them for hours and sign autographs. Awesome.
My friend Evan, who I went to college with, pre-ordered The Wolf, and at some point Andrew W.K. called him personally to thank him. I thought that was pretty rad.
Anyway, he's my cotton candy music. I like to headbang and punch my friends to the Man In White, and I ain't ashamed.

I actually like the concept. Catchy rock tunes with simple lyrics... it's party music. Let's say you're in a bar, and an Andrew WK comes on, and EVERYONE knows the lyrics and starts singing along. It gets everyone pumped and havin' fun, so I say, keep 'em coming Andrew WK, we take ourselves too fucking seriously.
Hopefully there'll be a tour. I saw him at both Nation and 9:30 club in DC and both were great shows. I'd definitely go see him again. Great live show.

He is by far, one of the most respectful and thankful and grateful people in the music industry.
I love him. Such a nice, rad guy. He's all about good vibes and good times. He's got my fucking vote!

The king of scruff n nose bleeds returns to put the fun back in rock I second that!!!!.Lets get wasted and have some fun.Uk shows please thanx the great unclean WKSTER!!!!
This is the news that I have been waiting for for about a 2 years now. I have been an AWK fan since the first time i saw the video for "Party Hard". He may have simple songs and lyrics but I gaurantee you will have a good time if you attend one of his shows. He is one of the very few musicians out there that actually makes music exclusivly for the entertainment of his fans. I think he would do it for free if he could. I will be preordering all 3 of these. Long Live the Party!

Seriously. I mean, hell, it worked for the Ramones.
I have to say that while most of his songs are shallow as fuck (and sometimes outright bad), I love this man to death. He is certainly appreciative of his fans; I waited in line to get his autograph at Ozzfest after seeing him rock the hell out, and he signed for more than 2 hours, refusing to leave until he had met the last fan. When I got to him, the seat was wet from rain, so he grabbed a paper towel and wiped it off before my dad sat down. He was so warm and welcoming...If only all rockers could be like that.
And I hate the word rocker, forgive me for saying it just now.
