In an age where concert ticket prices continue to skyrocket, we are desperately in need of a hero. It's obviously not gonna be Madonna or Bono or The Rolling Stones. Unexpectedly, our knight in shining armor has come in the form of long dreads and an Adidas jumpsuit; it's Jonathan Davis, frontman of Nu Metal pioneers Korn.

Korn will be headlining the annual Family Values Tour, and lawn seats to all the shows will be selling for a paltry $9.99 each. Kudos to these guys for putting on a large rock tour that separates itself from all of the other summer package tours by actually benefitting fans and their wallets.

And in a PR move that would make the Joker proud, Davis appeared outside a recent Chicago Cubs game and handed out thousands of dollars in $10 bills to a shitload of people. The idea was to use the $10 to buy a ticket to the tour (or pay for the Ticketmaster surcharges fans will incur). Davis also passed out CD's, show tickets and all kinds of goodies. Rounding out the day, Jonathan threw out the first pitch at the ballgame. Family values-a-go-go.

If you have a spare $10 to go to a show where, ironically, merch will cost you 3-4 times as much as the ticket, here are the dates. Also appearing are the Deftones, Stone Sour and Flyleaf. And yes, I need to get over this addiction to inkornporating band names into words.

Also ironic is the fact that he was handing out these $10 bills outside a Chicago Cubs game, and yet there is no Chicago date on the tour...

Maybe that was their stop in Chicago.

All joking aside, there are a bunch of empty dates still to be filled. I am sure a tour like this won't pass over Chicago.

The Alpine Valley date is pretty close to being a Chicago date. Maybe they'll play at the United Center or Allstate. (I am kinda sick of the corporate naming rights for these places...)

I'm sure many of you are asking yourself, "And where is the Batman?" He's at home, washing his tights!

Didn't Korn make some kind of deal with Puma a few years back, trading in their stripes for the kitties and hefty bit o' cash?

they are playing alpine valley in wisconsin, its not far from chicago at all, just a little ways north of the border. people from chicago go there all the time for shows, i think it is way bigger than any outdoor place we have in the city.

10 bucks to see a Nu-Metal show, what a rip off. I only gots to pay 3 bucks to see a local punk band down at the bar, and I get front row seats.
