Vocalists with deep voices

My friend has this really weird thing which is that for some reason he hates vocalists that have deep voices or especially hoarse voices. For example, he says that he would like the Sisters of Mercy or Poison Idea or Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, but he doesn't like the vocals. I just don't know what to do. Maybe I will kick his ass or something.

Clearly this is a vital issue to resolve. How on earth is he to enjoy the wonders of the Crash Test Dummies otherwise?

I kind of have the opposite thing where for the most part I can't stand most vocalists with high voices. Lately I've heard a lot of songs where the intro kicks major portions of ass, but it all falls apart once the singer begins. There are, however, quite a few notable exceptions, such as Rush and Boy Hits Car.
