In my opinion there are better bands that play the same kind of music.Lacuna Coil are okay but not so good as Theatre of Tragedy for instance. I have watched concerts by both bands together (Lacuna Coil as support band of TOT) and you can really see the diference that way. The male vocals of Lacuna Coil are really bad and live you can comprove it.Scabia is okay and I think she should bet in another project, something like The Gathering or Aenima for instance.

Laguna Coil is Ok but Nighwish does the same and is much better. Cristina is a good singer but she really can't match Tanja Turunen.

Oh, btw. Nightwish has a new record out, Once, which is dominating the European charts right now (1# in Germany biggrin ) They are also about to start a world tour, with few concerts in USA (more info here)

I actually don't mind Andrea's vocals, although he is quite weak live. I heard him recently on Headbanger's Ball and he sucked but I don't blame him for not performing his best when they've been touring for about a year and half pretty much solid.

As for Cristina needing turning up, she sounded perfect live when I saw them, even though she was ill. They're a very dedicated band and down to earth with it, still caring a hell of a lot about the fans.

I think it's unfair to even think of comparing Cristina with Tarja from Nightwish as she is classically trained and Cristina isn't. Still can't make my mind up about Nightwish either.

It's Tarja!! Sorry to be picky but...

anyway, Tarja sounds so weak on the new record. Give me 'End of all hope' or 'Stargazers' anytime, none of this 'Nemo' shite.

Personally I prefer Lacuna Coil. I love Nightwish too, but I think Tarja's voice can be grating on some tracks, as good as it is.

That's ok, he didn't spell either of the band names correctly either.

As to Tarja's voice being "grating": well, I certainly don't agree. Though I've never even listened to Lacuna Coil, I've been meaning to give them a try. But from the countless comments about this male vocalist guy's voice sucking, you could probably call them "grating" too :p

Karmacode - anyone else bought it yet? I just got mine today. It's quite good. I'll be looking forward to Lacuna Coil at Ozzfest this year.

I saw them opening for POD or something I really don't like. I watched them and then left the show. It was well worth it for them alone.

If you're looking for another band with great male/female alternating vocals, check out Theatre of Tragedy....

EXACTLY!!!! or even check out the Leaves Eyes albums. that Liv Kristine broad is angelic....

and i think that she will probibly take over the spot for singer of Nightwish since she is pretty much the only female vocalist that could be on an even slate as Tarja

I'd written them of after Comalies, which was an OK album but their old ToT/Paradise Lost worship stuff was better. The new album holds no interesrt for me at all, its just too radio freindly and doesn't do anything new. The Gathering and Flowing Tears are better examples of this style anyway and both have better singers (IMHO).

As for Tarja if Nightwish... meh, she wasn't much of a frontwoman live and her best days were behind her anyhow. If they wanted another Opera singer then Anne-Maria who sang for Therion on their last few albums should definitely be considered but TBH I'd rather they shifted direction and got a singer who could do Opera live but did another style on record, like Monica Evardson (formerly of Atrox/Tactile Genma) or Kim Gloss (Sinergy).
