Anyone ever ruin a song/lyric for you?

I used to talk to a guy online who could be lots of fun, but who could also be a real jerk sometimes. One night I dreamt about him, and I was really happy about it, so the next day I said to him "I dreamt about you last night, and I fell out of bed twice!" (from The Smiths' "Reel Around The Fountain"). His response? "How awful! I'm sorry I ruined your dream for you!" or something to that effect. I did not find it funny. After him being rude to me for all the months I'd known him at that point, this was just one more thing.

Also, one time I was singing Sarah McLachlan(shut up I like her)'s version of "Into The Fire" before class at high school, and my "friend" made fun of me, so I bristle a little whenever I hear it.

Any other songs/lyrics you can't stand anymore or is upsetting because of someone else's rudeness/other bad behavior?

I was dragged into a chav club and found all them all dancing to Summer Of '69 by Bryan Adams. I was devastated, because I always thought it was a cool song.

On a semi-related note, when I was in my first year of primary school (aged 4), I decided I loved hearing the sound of my voice during those evenings when we all sat around singing nursery rhymes, so I plugged my fingers in my ears, shut my eyes and belted the tune out.

Anyway, some dozey cunt spilt his carton of milk and everyone stopped singing, except big-gob here who carried on without realising. I've never sung since.

Argh! Summer of 69, the most tired cover ever!

I have trouble listening to what was a pretty decent song thanks to all the knuckleheads who have one horrible versions of it.

I can include Dancing With Myself in that category as well.
