This is a 100% accurate statement. If a person has been adequately exposed to Tom Waits' music, and said person does not like at least some of it, that person is irredeemable. This isn't meant to be malicious, it's just the way it is.
Can I get an amen?

I think I can agree with that.
It's similar to my theory that people who don't like marshmallows are not to be trusted.

Never trust a man in a blue trenchcoat, or anyone who doesn't like Tom Waits.

Agreed.

I think an appropriate corollary to this is "Always trust a man with a flask." I think it's axiomatic that any man with a flask would like Tom Waits.

Oh brother...Sorry, I just don't get why you have love Tom Waits so much. I have never really liked his old man gravelly vocals or the sadness of his songs. Just my personal taste. I don't like certain vocalists and that is what usually makes or breaks someone for me. Am I not to be trusted? Perhaps not

No intended malice. I didn't make the rules.

Okay I did. But we're dealing with an axiom here.

I know plenty of redeemable people who don't like Tom Waits. I still feel sorry for them though. They don't even know what they're missing.

That might make you a blood relative. In Kansas.
I am making this up.

I saw his last show at the Orpheum. I'm pretty sure it cured my cancer.

Let's not fight, remember WWTWD?

It would probably involve cheap booze and a hooker from Minneapolis.
