Echo and the Bunnymen....yaay schlecho!

The Clash (R.I.P. Joe) and yes, they did start in the '70s, but the '80s were their decade

Billy Bragg... my heart still shudders at Man in the Iron Mask

Deja Voodoo... need some Canadian content of course

Depeche Mode.... the summer of '85 still rings thru!

Were to stop? Well, here I guess

R.E.M. was fucking awesome all throughout the 80's. Especially Fables and Life's Rich Paegant. Although Murmur, their first full LP, is probably still my fave album of theirs.

Peter Gabriel did his best work 1980-1983, his 3rd and 4th albums. 20 years later and still nobody can touch "Rhythm of the Heat" and "Family and the Fishing Net." The Birdy soundtrack is good, too. Really dark intense stuff. Btw, in my members picture I'm sporting the make-up from Gabriel's 1982-83 tour. :3)

Talking Heads also did some awesome work with Remain in Light, Speaking in Tongues... and the film 'Stop Making Sense' which transformed my whole world!! Little Creatures is a great album, too.

Anyways, as far as the 80's are concerned, those are the big guns for me.

My votes for the Stray Cats!!!! They were doing something totally different then what was going on in the mainstream. I rember turnin' on mtv when I was a little kid and catching one of thier videos and thinking that they most be a '50s band......
