My group is putting out our first album this year, and I was looking for some help and advice. Where's a good place to go to get a good deal on CD manufacturing? How about a good place to get some stickers made up? What about some sort of merchandising? What's a good start? Wait till we push the CD, or have some T-shirts and shit ready? What's a good place to get it made? Our website is very dull, where's a good place to find someone with some skill in web design?
i've watched my boyfriend's band do things like this, but they never seem to use the same place twice, since they move around a lot. i'd suggest talking to friends (especially other bands) in your area and compare experiences. sometimes the cheapest way to go means getting fucked up merchandise in the end, so it's important to go somewhere that's reasonable AND reputable. also, getting references from other bands can sometimes get you deals, depending on the situation. same thing with the website. you can often find someone with great web design skills through friends who won't charge very much because they need the experience or need something for their portfolio.
