Punknews is reporting that The Rollins Band will be getting back together, first to play some shows and then possibly to record a new record. For the last several years, Hank has been focusing on his spoken word performances, which have only gotten better and better. Right now he is doing "talking shows" (as he likes to call them) in Europe on his 25 Years of Bullshit Tour. The Rollins Band hasn't produced a record or toured since the release of 2002's The Only Way to Know for Sure.
Henry found time in his busy schedule for a short practice session with his band. The results were evidently encouraging
We have been practicing on and off for months now, slowly getting it together. Today I went in and they were playing Shame when I got there. Today I did Black and White, Volume 4, Civilized, Divine Object Of Hatred, Alien Blueprint, Disconnect. It was all I had time for before I had to sprint to the hotel.
So, we are back together and are planning on getting some shows in by August. Nothing is booked yet. We have contacted all the agents are seeing whats available. Its been really cool being back in the practice room with these guys after all these years. I had a meeting with Theo the other night in Amsterdam for about an hour after the show and hes in 100%. I am looking forward to getting more practices happening.
Fantastic! WHoo Hoo! Splendid news yes indeed! Hope Henry doen't have a heart attack spreading himself even thinner, I mean, I wish I had as much energy to devote to so many projects as he...
Sounds good to me. I haven't listened to him that much since oh, Life Time. Well, there was The End of the Silence...
No wait, I do want to buy whatever has that duet he did with Shatner. That was fucking brilliant. The other day on Sirius he said Bill has him over for Monday Night Football.

"I can't get behind that" fucking awesome song! its closer to his spoken word stuff than his music (which is what I prefer anyways)

it's the "Come In And Burn" lineup
and that's very cool with me
oh, so after Weiss was kicked out? meh... I'd have probably liked the post-Weiss line-up better if they'd kicked Rollins out and gone instrumental at that point
got very boring to me once Weiss was gone, mainly because it was like the band wanted to go in interesting musical directions but Rollins was like "fuck you guys, write me some rock songs" and it ended up in bad place between the two... or something...
plus, as good a player as Gibbs is ya just can't beat Weiss' distorted bass.

so Im down
yeah I guess I got a few years on ya there. I went to see them the first time they came to Toronto with the Gibbs line-up... "Weight" was the only album that line-up had cut, and Rollins wouldn't let them play the older stuff even though Gibbs had apparently learned a lot of it... so I basically got treated to them playing all 10 or 12 songs from an album that only had about 3 good songs on it... and to top it off I was near the front and Rollins stuck his hand down his shorts and then took it out and flicked crotch-sweat over the area where I was - none of us could move out of the way b/c it was so packed. fucker. so that was pretty much the end of the Rollins Band for me
