Summertime. What better time to reunite your "seminal" band and play a couple of festivals and make some scrilla? Pitchfork reports that the all-female postpunk trio The Slits have reunited and have booked two shows for May.
If drool has yet to hit your keyboard, do some homework: the Slits formed in 1976. By 1977 they were on the White Riot Tour, opening for the Buzzcocks and the Clash. Sure beats your gig at the roller rink. In 1979, they released Cut, one of the greatest punk albums ever made. No, fuck that--one of the greatest albums ever made, period.
Ahh Pitchfork. The band is about to hit the studio with producer Adrian Sherwood, who has worked with The Fall and Depeche Mode, to record a new record. The new album is tentatively expected to come out this fall. In the meantime, here are the two shows.
