If you could sing any songs you like at karaoke, what would your preferred 5 songs be?

I'm curious. Indulge me.

Well here's the five songs I sing that suck the least

1. The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup
2. Cheap Trick - I Want You To Want Me
3. Green Day - Basketcase
4. Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus
5. Uhh... okay. I butcher pretty much everything else.

I am constantly doing karaoke at my local-bar-that-I-love-very-much.

1. Janis Joplin- Piece Of My Heart
2. Guns 'N Roses- Sweet Child O Mine
3. Blind Melon- No Rain
4. Bon Jovi- Livin' On A Prayer
5. Motorhead- Ace Of Spades

Those are what I do the most because they're damned easy for me, and they're in the admittedly pathetically small book at my bar.

I've been known to do anything from Alice In Chains to Tori Amos. It varies a lot depending on how drunk and ambitious I'm feeling.

Oh, and I've gotten into a hell of a lot of karaoke finals by doing that Joplin song, it just hasn't let me WIN anything tongue

i havent done it in years, but i generally go for the most obnoxious shit i can find. the best night was the time that i did, "blaze of glory," by jon bon jovi, then "friends in low places." the night was capped by me and this girl, kim, doing a duet of "close my eyes forever."

basically, i have no shame. but anyone who was at the philly party last halloween could tell you that.

Wait, nevermind. There aren't the five songs that I'd most like to sing if I could choose from anything, but they are the five that are usually in every karaoke guy's collection. Also, I know the melodies by heart.

Billy Joel - "Still Rock and Roll To Me"
Hall and Oates - "I Can't Go For That"
The Ramones - "I Wanna Be Sedated"
Joe Jackson - "Steppin' Out"
Scorpions - "Winds of Change" (But only if you can sing.)

I should add that I think I do a reasonable "Say It Ain't So" and that "Basketcase" and "A Praise Chorus" sound the best when misguided is backing me up.
