was watching VH1 last night and they had on the top 100 1 hit wonders and they had faith no more with epic. i'm sorry but there is no way in the world that they were a one hit wonder band placed in the same catergory with edwynn collins and the mary jane girls.

I guess you could claim that "Falling to Pieces" was another hit, but I don't know how big it got. Certainly not as big as "Epic."

_Angel Dust_ had "Midlife Crisis," again, not a big hit.

_King for a Day..._ had "Evidence" and "Digging a Grave," neither went anywhere.

_Album of the Year_ just plain stunk.

So VH-1 may have a point.

For the record, the Mary Jane Girls had more top 50 hits than Faith no More.

"We Care a Lot" could be considered a hit I would think.

Well, if you call "not charting" having a hit, then yes. wink

They only broke the top 40 once.

A One Hit Wonder really is suppose to be a band or singer that had one famous hit then were never heard of after that. In a sense, a band that'll never have a greatest hits album which Faith No More has one.

But no one pays attention anymore.

NO. It's a band with ONE HIT. Big Country has put out tons of albums, have at least one greatest hits album, but is a one hit wonder. Same with Flock of Seagulls.

But no one pays attention ever.

The true definition of a One Hit Wonder is actually someone who only had one song in the Billboard Top 40. Faith No More had more than one.

haha I read when Patton was asked if he'd appear on this Vh1 video so as to show "what they were doing now", he'd only agree if they showed him living in a cardboard box.

no they didn't. It's easy to look things up on the internet. Speaking of "easy," it was their second biggest hit, clocking in at number 52 on the chart.

They've had hits on Modern Rock radio, but none in the Top 40.

Even more elusive than the One Hit Wonder....is the One Hit Wonder...who has been made fun of during an episode of Beavis & Butthead.

They may not have been hit makers but, they are one of the main influences of todays rock/ hard rock artists. Many bands, too many to name here list them as one of their main influences. Who cares if the masses of stupid americans did respect them!! They are one of my favorite bands!

It's a bit of a bummer that FNM will mainly be remembered for "Epic". I personally think it's one of their worst tunes (except for the piano outro). But the same people who will just remember that tune are the idiots who spawned their shitty rap-metal bands off of it. "King for a Day.." is a genius record.
"Take it from our drummer 'Puff', being good it gets you stuff."

I always felt that Patton was phoning it in. Did he even write lyrics for that one? Besides singing "collision" nineteen billion times. Maybe "King For a Day..." just spoiled me.

I saw them live in Davenport, IA, way back when. They rocked the place, and then all of a sudden the stage lights went all pink and yellow and they broke into "Easy". It was quite the WTF moment! But man, they could rock Lionel Ritchie better than anyone!
