I've only heard Fille à Plume, but it bloody rocked. I'm thinking of picking up the record.

Any opinions?

And yes, I know it's en français... wink

I actually posted about them in my journal recently.

Here's the funny thing: Montréal has an amazing music scene. Some of these bands, the vast majority singing in english, can go on to be pretty sucessful worldwide, but it still amazes me how much they can be barely known by french canadians living in Québec outside Montréal.

For Malajube, it's the exact opposite. They are getting pretty popular localy here, but will probably never amount to much worldwide for the simple reason they sing in french, despite the facts that there's plenty to love musicaly.

I have both 2004's Le Compte Complet, which is short, punchy and extremely addictive and the new one that just came out, Trompe L'Oeil, which is more complex, more mature and a bit sinister. Honestly, if you enjoy bands from Montreal's music scene and you're open minded, it wouldn't be a bad idea to check this band out.
