Teen heart-throbs My Chemical Romance have begun work on the follow up to 2004's breakthrough record Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. Taking a page out of Green Day's book, the band is entering the studio with producer Rob Cavallo, who produced and engineered the 1994 classic Dookie (it is hard to believe that it is just about the same age as the average My Chem fan).

LA SG readers can go hang out with the band at the Paramour mansion in Silverlake, where they are holed up doing demos and pre-production. Cavallo spoke to MTV, and is ready to have another 1 million + seller under his belt:

We're working on stuff, just getting it together and making demos. And from what we've got so far, I think the record is going to be awesome. The songs are wicked. There's some really dark stuff, and some touches of Queen and the Doors. And there's some really experimental parts that sound a bit like System of a Down. But all of that is mixed with a big shot of My Chemical Romance.

The actual recording will begin on April 10 at an undisclosed studio also in the LA area. At this time a release date has not been confirmed for the album, however it looks like it will be called The Rise and Fall of My Chemical Romance.

If you want to see the band live at all, you better make your way down to Austin for South By Southwest. Their only confirmed show for the year (right now, at least) is at the Shirts For A Cure benefit show being hosted by Thursday at the festival. The newly reformed Lifetime and Head Automatica are also playing.

You know one good thing about liking a band that 14 year olds like? You can see the stage no matter where you stand. I realized this at a Decendants show, haha.

I love My Chemical Romance. The fact that everyone else my age hates them (or pretends to) just makes me love them more. Mwahahahaha!! love

Dude, Queen + The Doors + System Of A Down sounds kind of awesome. I've never actually heard My Chemical Romance. Should any interest I have in them based on their attractive self-assessment be stopped now?

You can run, but you can't hide. You may as well give up. I put up the good fight for some time. It was futile. I think the fact that they're so polarizing makes them worth checking out.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Although this was several years ago. I don't know what the kids' level of Descendants involvement is these days.
