4) Do you listen to punk music? yes
5) How long have you listened to punk? since i was about 11 or 12.
6) How many hours a day do you listen to music during an average day? a whole lot at work, so probably like 4 to 5.
7) What percentage of the music you listen to during an average day is punk music? - not that much any more. maybe 20%, but that's probably generous.
8) Which are your three favourite punk bands? Black Flag, Minor Threat, Born Against
9) Why do you think you listen to punk music? Aggression. Also, it wasn't as hackneyed as all the other crap I used to hear when I was younger.
10) And finally, do you think punk music has changed? Yes. I'm fairly young, so I can't get old school on everyone, but most punk now just follows a set pattern that is truly not interesting. It's quite boring to see a room filled with kids with dyed mohawks and studded leather jackets. I've also noticed that it has become more accepted by the general population to the point of absurdity. I don't deny that there are some very cool punk bands playing now, like Dropdead or Zegota (if you consider them punk), but I find antiflag and the like very boring.
If you have any more further comments on punk music, then please feel free to write it down.
I think the spirit of punk has taken a new direction and can be seen/heard in various other types of music. There is only so much that can be done with three chord progressions. Also, in John Lydon's book he wrote that if he was a kid today he probably wouldn't even be into music, he would find something else. That's pretty interesting.
Interesting topic. Hopefully you post your finished study so everyone can read it.
