So, I've just been relistening to my favorite Concept album of all time. Savatage's Dead Winter Dead record (coincidentally the birthplace of Trans-Siberian Orchestra) And I figured I'd ask. What, in your opinion is the best Concept Album you know of. For me it's Dead Winter Dead.

EDIT: My spelling is atrocious this afternoon.

Nah. I just really like the way dead winter Dead was written. political, poignant and melodic. The Guitar work is great. it runs the gambit from melodic solos, to Beethoven and Mozart. to downright Heavy Riffs like onj tracks like Dead Winter Dead and Doesn't matter anyway. And Come on. It's the only time I've ever heard of a Mortar attack sounding so pretty.

Pretty much anything by Tom Waits, but in particular, Blood Money, thought it's kind of more of a soundtrack.

But also Jesus Christ Superstar.

A concept album in the truest sense, every song has 3 titles and is divided into 3 sections. Each song also has only 3 riffs that are played in different orders and with diffent keys and vocals to create each section. Asthetically it's a perfect dystopian soundtrack, cold, emty and tragic. On top of all of this its a great abum to boot wih great use of EBM and Industrial programming and synths over a disjointed Black Metal base with varying moods from Serene to oblique (tieing in nicely with the concept at that).

Truely makes me lament the loss of ...AO frown
