He's not dead yet?

Maybe Axl got flustered by how mediocre Velvet Revolver has turned out... so he keeps delaying his own crumby albums. biggrin

Wow, I speak and read English pretty well, and I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to get across here.

Just go look for your crap albums at any store in America Frank-it will be clear then...and you still owe me 20 bucks from that La Luna show in Portland....
I posted two of the songs in my post above that one-but people have seemed to miss them...other then that-I could care less what you think you twinkcramer....

"Appetite" was a true classic, and "Use yr Illusion" had a single LPs worth of good material, so it makes me wonder how can people still have interest in this Axl Rose solo project? Baffling...!

that being said, right now, i am downloading me some sweet "Chinese Democracy" demos. Long live Bandanas and white spandex biker shorts!

I raised my eyebrow after they turned one good album into Use Your Illusion I & II. I stopped caring after the monkey-fucking-a-football that was The Spaghetti Incident.

More than that...I think I simply outgrew them. Appetite For Destruction is one of those albums that I'll always like...because it was some great rock-n-roll. Aside from that...G-n-R serve me no purpose.

Hey Spin, that's not a metaphor.

There wouldn't be leaks if they just put the damn thing out already!!! I hate when a band has a song out and its two months for the album. I more I have to wait the more I don't want it. mad

Everything they ever did basically sucked.

Read the lyrics to "Paradise City." Try and keep a straight face while you do it. The song is moronic.

The fact that they were the biggest band at the time was one of the main reasons why the alt stuff pushed that kind of music off the charts.

People were just plain sick of mediocre uninteresting music.

And now that the record companies have re-dumbed things right back down (hey, one of the big bands right now used to be a tribute band, and even have the same name they did as a tribute band) it might just be prime time for GnR to makea comeback. I don't think it'll go anywhere.

the rock station here in philly played one of the songs last week for one day. It was played twice, then removed from airplay b/c they got over 150 calls asking for it to be removed by the listening public. That's something huh?

this one goes out to SG Member Timer,

i think you missed the spirit of what i was writing.

G'N'R' is, and will always be, for the 16 and 17 yr old boys from the 1980's. suprisingly, G'N'R' was also a "reaction", but to 2 (!) decrepit scenes: Hair Metal & New-Wave gone horribly wrong. Back then they sounded fresh and dangerous. There was no Axl Rose backstory to read into the music, there was just this guy who sounded like Steven Tyler simultaneously on helium and heroin.

It was a smalltown indiana boy's sleazy descent into drugs, misogyny, and whoredom. It smelled real and tasted real.

But back to present, the new "G'N'R'" music really sucks!!!! puke

being the music geek that i am...and always wishing that "Use yr Illusion" was a single LP, i have in fact re-sequenced a pretty long, single version of the classic, disaster/masterpeice double LP. This one, naturally, has no Axl white-boy rapping or "Get in tha Ring" mouthafucka!

Use Yr Ilusion (redux)

1. Right Next Door To Hell
2. Dust'N'Bones
3. You Could be Mine (still cool as hell)
4. Don't Cry (alt version)
5. Perfect Crime
6. You Ain't the First
7. Shotgun Blues
8. Double Talkin' Jive
9. Estranged
10. Yesterdays
11. Civil War
12. 14 Years
13. Garden of Eden
14. Coma

so there, i know all you "indie rock" boys are turning your nose with disdain but give it a go and it might put some hair on yr chest and a rock in yr walk.

Other than that i think more attention should be placed on all the great canadian bands right now: Broken Social Scene, Godspeed you! Black Emperor, Wolf Parade, Do Make Say Think, Feist, and Arcade Fire. Some beautiful sounds from under the radar and north of the border.

oh and by the way, as the name implies, i am high RIGHT KNOW! Keep i' Real!!! puke puke oink
