Wondering if there were any Trip-Hop fans out there? I'm looking for some new bands to listen to. I've been listening to mostly Portishead, Masive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, and Tricky. Any other bands out there worth checking out?

Blockhead is the only new artist you could call trip hop, unless you count RJD2?

lamb, dj shadow, unkle, prefuse 73, david holmes, nightmares on wax, lemon jelly, coldcut, kruder and dorfmiester, hexstatic, funki porcini, fila brazilla, anything on mo'wax or ninja tunes record labels... this list could go forever. even longer depending on your view of what trip hop actually is... there's alot of stuff like plaid that is border line electronica trip hop depending on your view point... i guess the most trip hoppiest plaid album would be their 'rest proof clockwork'.. fuckin' quality biggrin

hope this has helped a little smile

I used to listen to a crap-tonne of Tricky back in the day. I dunno if Gorillaz counts, but I like them too. Portishead's pretty rad. Yeah, not too big on it anymore though.

Maybe as a whole but there are select few songs that are great.

If you like Trip-Hop try:

Lovage
Meat Beat Manifesto
Mr. Scruff
Nightmares On Wax
Propellerheads are great but they are more D&B
Rob Dougan has some good stuff
Royksopp leans towards a more electronica side and is a little speedier than most Trip-Hop
To the slower side of things give Boards of Canada a try.

Lovage kicks ass. I'm pissed that I missed my chance to see them a few years back, didn't learn about them until a few weeks after they were around my area.
