Noel Gallagher is pissed that Jack White penned a jingle for a Coca Cola ad:

http://www.brandrepublic.com/bulletins/br/article/531989/gallagher-lambasts-white-stripes-cocacola-ad/

"Jack White has just written a song for Coca-Cola. End of. He ceases to be in the club. And he looks like Zorro on doughnuts, I don't believe in adverts. He's meant to be the posterboy for the alternative way of thinking.

Coca-Cola man. Fucking hell. And OK, you want to spread your message of peace and love, but do us all a fucking favour. I'm just not having it. It's like doing a fucking gig for McDonald's."

Personally, I'm heartened to hear Noel call out this talentless ass-clown, even if I'm biased as a huge Oasis fan.

ahahaha. My thoughts exactly.

Noel can talk shit when he drops the whole John Lennon clone thing. Or is that his brother? On second thought, who cares. They're both douchebags.

Ummm... The White Stripes have been getting plenty of exposure for years. They're not exactly under the radar.

And honestly, who really cares about the White Stripes OR Oasis?

Both are way past their prime.

Jack White has turned down other commercial offers, but like he's said, he likes Coke. Theres nothing wrong with advertising a product you like. Also I haven't heard the jingle.

I love the Stripes, and Oasis is finished, but Noel Gallagher has once again proved that there is no band in recent memory as adept at dishing out insults.

"He looks like Zorro on doughnuts" Fucking awesome.

Similarly, I enjoyed Liam's taunting of Chris Martin at the Q Awards. "You're a potted plant!" biggrin

This guy needs his own show on VH1. Takin' The Piss Outta, with Noel Gallagher, maybe?

that show would be amazing

especially if every so often he'd bring in Liam and Liam would call the subject of "piss taking" a "nipple".

(sorry, I REALLY loved that. Anytime Oasis comes up, the first thing in my head "nip. . . .ple")

I wouldn't. That would just guarantee his continued celebrity has-been status. I'd rather him be another anonymous schlub.

Sorry, but what? Their first album only came out in fucking 1999. And that party is meant to last.

noel is good for a laugh, too bad he's not written a decent tune in years. and if he's so worried about artistic integrity, why is ripping off your idols more acceptable than writing a jingle for coke?

The last Oasis record thoroughly rocked. It's too bad American stations were too busy playing garbage like My Chemical Romance to notice.

But, yeah, the Zorro on doughnuts comment was what made the quote.

I can't find a link, but I remember another Noel slam on Jack White in Blender or one of those type of music mags: "Allright, you're original, we get it, now go get a fucking bassist."
