The Dresden Dolls are currently calling out to all artists for artwork for their upcoming album, tentatively scheduled to be released in the spring of 2006:
We have seen so much talent coming from our fans at the live shows and via the fan art page that we'd like to invite all of you talented visual artists/graphic designers/photographers/etc to submit song-specific artwork to be used in the booklet for the new album.
The album artwork concept is currently being treated like a gallery, in which each song will have it's own page, frame and image within a larger context that will be designed and curated by the wonderful Barnaby Whitfield, who created the cover for our recent 7" and the DVD. He and the band will select the artwork to be used in the record.
Of course, there are rules, a list of songs to work on, a stream of the songs, and more information available for those that are interested.
Something I wanted to note for those not reading from the link:
No artwork left behind program: all noteworthy artwork that is not selected for use with the album will be displayed on our ass-kicking fan-art page once the final pieces have been selected, and/or may be used (with artists' permission) in other creative and disturbing ways on-line and off.
