A Canadian film company is working on a film reguarding "the mind" of Mark David Chapman, the guy who couldn't even face Lennon upon shooting him. Jordan Catalano is slated to play Chapman and Lindsay Lohan as some friend of his.
The interesting thing to me is the working title, "Chapter 27" and as CNN reports, "Chapter 27," is a reference to the 26 chapters in the J.D. Salinger coming-of-age novel "The Catcher in the Rye," which Chapman cited as his inspiration for the murder. Chapman has said he identified with the book's hero, who hated phonies, and gunned Lennon down because he thought him a hypocrite. Most of us know this but what a nod to Salinger, eh?
I wonder if Yoko will have a say seeing as she actually sued and won in a case against that great band EMF ("you're unbelievable!") for sampling Chapman just talking. Interesting.
I still remember being 13 years old, walking up to my bus stop and seeing some older kids crying with the news of the shooting, it seemed a bit surreal at the time.

I was 5 at the time (and in NY) and can recall the same from my home, with my mother not being able to speak and just being shocked by the TV images of people crying in the streets. I always remember the one guy who screamed "John Lennon can't be dead" and I still shudder if I see the stock footage on TV specials. We were a Beatles house but I don't think my mom ever told me it was the guy we listened to all the time. She couldn't speak anyway.
Everyone knows that it was Stephen King who really killed John Lennon.
Wow.
I like how the whole thing is based entirely off a photo of a pudgy King as evidence.
The letter that King wrote to the author is especially funny. He's just like, "I didn't kill John Lennon." Apparently that's not enough to stop a crazy person.

It's amazing that there is such McCartney hate. He's one of the great rock songwriters. Buncha haters could only hope to have a tenth of the talent and achieve a hundredth of what he has.
Sad, really, but I guess the internet gives everyone a voice, even know-nothing wannabe tough guys.

It's funny that people who like Lennon have to hate the two most important and influential people in his life. Guess they must be smarter than him.
Amen. Then again, most people who claim to be fans have absolutely no concept of what the man stood for. Sad, really.
