The Spice Girl's Melanie C, on how the other former members are ruining the band's, and her, good name:

"This year there's been the Live 8 cancellation, Victoria Beckham's never out of the press, Melanie B released an album that didn't do much and Geri Halliwell had an unsuccessful release - and that reflects badly. You're guilty by association."

How the mighty have fallen:

...after once playing Wembley Stadium with the band, she was reduced to performing a free concert to just 80 people in an Australian shopping mall this week.

Nah, Melanie C was the one that could actually sing.

Her first album was pretty well received by the British critics.

She's mentioned in the article, if not mentioned in the quote.
I see a '90s nostalgia package-tour in their future...

Which one was she? I forget. I always thought the "hot" one was... uh... the one who married David Beckham.

She ended up cancelling a bunch of dates here in Ireland, in small venues, after no-one bought any tickets.
The place here she was to play in holds about 100 people at most.
Didn't sell one ticket.

Man, a mall? She'd probably have better luck if she faked her own death and began a music career as an entirely different person.

We don't have pubs or venues down here. All the coolest bands play at shopping malls.

she didnt mention Geri/Ginger spice. possibly because she had a career after she prematurely left the spice girls. a music one too, not just for marrying a famous footballer.

Geri didn't marry the football player. That was Victoria. Geri put out an album shortly after and did a couple clip shows on vh1.

I suspect zombiehellcat's point was thet Geri's career was not based around marrying a famous football player, as opposed to Posh.

I think, anyway.
