Try as I might, I just can't bring myself to care in the slightest who may or may not be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The whole thing is a bit rah rah, and not very rock and roll as I have always understood the term. I went there once because I could get in free and I got a real PBS pledge drive vibe from the experience.
Nevertheless, it is a little funny that they couldn't come up with one artist from the "class of '80" to put on the short list for the black tie plaque 'n' mannequin treatment.
(via A Small Victory, whose commenters suggest Iron Maiden, among others. I, too, believe in the power of Maiden, but honestly I think they're both better off without each other.)
