The BBC announced in late August that it would be hosting the first ever "Peel Day", a day of gigs in honor of the late, great BBC radio presenter John Peel, who died last year while on holiday in Peru.

We can now tell you the lineup for this year's gigs:

The event will centre on a gig on October 13 that is being held at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall featuring the like of Super Furry Animals, New Order and The Fall with Radio 1 broadcasting the whole thing live.

The show runs from 6.30pm till 10.45pm, the artists announced so far are:

New Order
Super Furry Animals
The Fall
Laura Cantrell
Misty in Roots
Venetian Snares
Jawbone

New Order and The Fall, of course, were two of Mr. Peel's favorite bands.

Holy... damn. That's one fine lookin' lineup right there. The Furries and Venetian Snares and the fucking FALL at one show? That's nuts.

Plus, I've had a crush on Laura Cantrell ever since I saw her in the video for "The Guitar" by TMBG. Why the hell can't London be in the Midwest for once? WHY?
