MUSIC: You Could Have It So Much Cheaper

The advance leak to the internet is becoming de rigueur, and Franz Ferdinand's upcoming You Could Have It So Much Better... With Franz Ferdinand hasn't been spared from the trend. The only unusual aspect of this leak is its fairly late appearance, only three weeks ahead of the official release date. It had almost seemed with earlier incidents that albums leaked to the internet before they were even recorded.

Who's brilliant idea was this?

Like previous releases this year including Coldplay and Paul McCartney, promotional copies of the album had been sent out under a pseudonym, in this case C Drive Back-Up, to try to protect the album.

Yeah. That didn't work. Anyhow, the official in-stores date of October 4th remains unaffected at the moment.
