As a hXc U2 fan, I am saddened/angered by this. Dashboard Confessional will open for U2 for the four Toronto dates next week (which are also the first dates on the third leg of U2's Vertigo 05 Tour), as well as the Chicago, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee dates.

His shitty band is not worthy of opening for the greatest band in the world.

I remember when the Pixies opened up for U2 back then. Sorry, but not much of a U2 fan. We were about to leave once the Pixies finished but ended up staying. I'm glad I stayed,,,,,what a show!!

I'm still pissed that PJ Harvey opened for them for a million dollars a ticket. Then she came back to play the day before Halloween when all my money was spent on costumes, booze and drugs.

I blame U2.

PS. They suck.

Wow... I don't think there's a musical act in this entire thread so far that I could actually tolerate listening to, even if I were shopping for jeans.

Oct '97, a friend of mine went to Minneapolis with a mutual friend of hers and her sister, ostensibly to visit the UM campus (my friend was then in twelfth grade, and doing the campus visit thing), but instead they shall Pop*Mart at the Metrodome.

Smash Mouth opened.

You like?

I. Doubt. It.

Chris is an amazing song writer , I would like to see half of the rock musicians in the world try to play acoustic and nail every note. The world might be a better place. If you have the ear to know u2 is a great band why dont you listen to dc's set with an open mind you might enjoy yourself. As for swinging dc fans around by our ankles, ....go right ahead.......we'll just run off with your girlfriend when your done,............you know girls like that kissable and quite- in touch with my feelings-not afraid to say i love you-type wink whatever

My friend saw Reel Big Fish at Cornell, and Dashboard opened for them.

If that's not two bands who don't belong together, I don't know what is.

I went and saw Bowie and Moby at the Gorge in Washington and also playing that day were Busta Rhymes and the Blue Man Group. Wow. It was like a series of weirder and weirder opening bands......
