Death or Black metal

Which do you guys like better and why

I personally like death metal better because it seems a lot more brutal and faster than black metal

Personally I preffer bands that mix the two (The first Zyklon album or Satanica by Behemoth etc.), Black Metal is of course more overtly versetile however Death Metal usually involves better riffs. I sudgest you're better off taking this over to the Black and Death Metal group because most people on SG won't know what you're talking about or simply cannot stand the stuff (understandable it is an aquired taste after all).

Yeah, that does kind of strike me as a comment by somebody who knows nothing about either. Because there sure is hell tons of depth and originality.. some of the most creative guitar work can be found in death / black metal.
Depth? Wow. You know, its very easy to compare the more technical bands to classical composers as far as structure and theory goes.
No depth or originality? pfft.

Me, I prefer death metal. Black metal Im not very keen on save for Venom.

i prefer deathmetal out of the two, closer sounding to grind and crust, wich i love.

Both. Both genres have outstanding albums, atmosphere and musicianship.
Classic albums by the originators often transcend each style.
