A nine-year-old who entered a coma after a pretty serious car accident, when hearing Green Day he came out of the coma.

As the boy's father told NME.com ...

His mother played his favourite Green Day album and within an hour he had opened his eyes ... He loves Green Day and is always playing their records. The title track we played is his favourite - he listens to it all the time.

Although there's been no statement on this from camp Green Day, the band's spokesperson said they were very happy to hear the news.

Awww bless, nice to have something light and fluffy to read. Makes a change from 'so and so has just murdered 500 people in the Middle East' or 'George Bush wishes to ban abortion/drinking/gay marriage/breathing'

Ahhh.. didn't read the article in the link. smile

That makes a little more sense.

More suprising though that the parents knew what the kids favorite track was. Can't say my parents would have known what my favorite GWAR song was. Maybe they could have ball parked it though...

More likely is that the parents got it wrong and that the kid was waking up to tell them he hadn't liked Green Day in years. He's probably humiliated, the poor kid!

If green day could pull him out, then it was a "too weak coma"

Jesus of Suburbia, even! I wonder if this kid lived in the suburbs.

I love Green Day. I'd come out of a coma for Green Day.
What a neat story. Good for the boy (and his family) on pulling through. smile

Side Note: Has anyone else noticed the older Billy Joe Armstrong gets the more eyeliner he seems to wear?

I saw this article somewhere and I was tempted to post it just so I could use the title, "Boulevard of Broken Comas". I felt like a genius for about two seconds. Man I'm lame.
