Max Weinberg Kicks So Much Ass

Death From Above 1979 was just on Conan. Good Stuff. The drummer got up and took lead vocals, and Max ran up to fill on the drums. he had some trouble getting his jacket off, but by golly, he persevered and BOOM fills a plenty. Awesome.

he's a drumming badass.

Max rocks. he's one of the best drummers in rock history. And a great guy too. I met him when he went to Seton Hall for a while.

Anybody who says "golly" is instanly ok in my book.

He is a great drummer -- its sad that most people know him as the dufus on the Conan O'Brian show.

Just saw it. Pure genius.

I saw that too, it was pretty rock-tastic. I have a feeling that Max hates being on that show. It's all in the eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul.

Max is a serious drum god.

say what you will about bruce springsteen and "born in the USA" but that part at the end where max goes apeshit is fucking sick.

That whole band on Late Night is pretty good.

I definitely get torn between him and Vini Lopez as Springsteen's best drummer. Weinberg can be a bit too metronomical at times for me. Of course, Lopez could get a bit busy.

I went to Conan once and Max tears it up even with a suit on. If you watch when they show him he's usually doing stuff and looking bored that most bands' drummers would be sweating their asses off.

For anyone who hasn't seen it.

Max is great, saw him with Springsteen.
