Which is your favourite Pink Floyd album – and why?

Mine is Animals, because:

Dogs and Sheep are sublime songs
All the songs are named after animals
They were all songs that were writtten at the same time as the Wall, but didn't have enough to do with Roger Waters childhood to make it!
Plus, i'm really stoned, and I always buzz off this album when I'm stoned. biggrin

Ugh..... I dunno, I want to say Wish You Were Here, but I have to go with Dark Side of the Moon, since it is so cohesive. I hate listening to songs off the album, it has to be in completeness.

Honorable mention to Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

Animals, because it's one of the more under rated albums by Pink Floyd which as well contains all radio-unfriendly songs, 3 long songs sandwhiched by two songs less than a minute and a half each.

Also, I've seen that factory on the Gatwick Express.

Dark Side of the Moon

I have it ripped as one 43 minute MP3. It really shouldn't be listened any other way.

Tough question.
Piper at the gates, and wish you were here are both great.
But then, so are Animals, Ummagumma, and Dark side.
And I have half of a really good live version of the wall. My grandfather found the cd on the side of the road when he was talking a walk. . .
I have no clue. I'll just say Ummagumma because it was the first Floyd album I ever listened to. I was digging through my dads old vinyl and the name called out to me.

i cant believe nobody has mentioned "the final cut"

it may be a bumch of scraps - but they really play well together
- two suns in the sunset
- your possible pasts
- the postwar dream

... a very underrated album, if you like the wall - check this album out

I love them all (as long as Roger is involved), but I'm going to have to go with "The Wall".

Whenever I'm down, or feeling just a little out of sorts, I listen to "the Wall" cover to cover and it makes me feel better.

Strong second is a tie between "Dark Side" and "Animals".

Not a tough question at all. The Final Cut is the best of the gorgeously overblown, concept albums by Waters. Animals and Wish You Were Here have better individual songs, but as an album it must be TFC.
