yup

...or, lemme see.... Revolution 9, not for its ass-backwards playability, but for the production a'la much like All Tommorows Parties, where the chorused vocals cut a measure or so before each other.

I never, ever notice production, but that's a good call. You can really tell in that song. Best piano I've heard in a rock song ever.

Best I can do is a top ten in no particular order

Cry For A Shadow
You Can't Do That
Octopus' Garden
Twist and Shout
All My Loving
Tomorrow Never Knows
And Your Bird Can Sing
I Saw Her Standing There
Anna (Go To Him)
Please Please Me
She Loves You
Please Mr. Postman
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
This Boy
I'm Only Sleeping
Revolution (the fast one)
Flying
Anything that Ringo sings

I couldn't stop at ten.

the beatles r so overrated fukk 'eem!1!

Now that's out of the way, I think Eleanor Rigby would be up there. Like, really up there. But I'll go with While My Guitar Gently Weeps, just because I love to see Harrison represented.

Actually, no, wait. Happiness Is A Warm Gun. Yes. Yes. Harrison's guitar in that is fucking incredible.

i really don't like the beatles very much. its just dull arse pop music. i mean, come on, they're so over. give me the stones anyday. although, the stnes haven't done a tune worth listening to in what, 25 years minimum.

i guess if i had to choose it'd be twist and shout. which isn't even one of theirs. so the a side of that song, back in the ussr, because its a bit mental in places and it fucked a lot of people off.

though, bizarrely i have a soft spot for interesting beatles cover versions. aretha franklin's cover of eleanor rigby or let it be are stunningly beautiful.

go home productions did a mash up of crazy little thing called love over the fool on the hill, which was superb.

i think maybe what i don't like about the beatles is the fact that each and every song you know inside out and they're so ubiquitous. i like to be challenged i guess, and the beatles, by dint of their popularity and their hero-worshipped status, are one of the least challenging artist in popular culture.
