What does everyone think of M. Ward? I heard a track on a Merge collection and I really dug it. I bought Transfiguration of Vincent and have been listening to nothing else since (well, its been about a week wink.

By the way, I have to add this about Merge. I ordered the CD (among others) and paid insurance. When they arrived (5 weeks later, c'mon, i know i didnt pay up for expedited, but 5 weeks?) the cases were crushed. I emailed them and they sent back a nasty reply saying what did I expect them to do, they were fine when they sent them. I emailed back and pointed out I bought insurance on them and they never responded. So I had to add that here, as my only recourse smile

If the merchandise was damaged, you have to file a claim at the post office (or whoever delivered it). If it was the USPS, they require that you bring the damaged item along with all of the packaging (box, padding) to the office, and they will check it out.

If the damage was just a jewel case for a CD, they'd probably laugh at you. But for future reference, it's the post office's responsibility to take the claim for the damage.

I saw M. Ward play at Mergefest last fall and he was simply breathtaking. He blew Lou Barlow out of the water, that's for damn sure.
Not to mention that seeing Superchunk right after was fucking awesome. And they played The First Part. Fucking A.

I always recommend The Transfiguration of Vincent to friends. I've yet to check out the newest one, though.

Never heard M. Ward's albums, but seen him in concert once. Enjoyed that very much.

Oh man I dig Transistor Radio so damn much, especially the second track. It reminds me of gettin' stoned in the graveyard with some friends last spring and talking about what the people in the graves must have thought of us.

Anyway, yeah. He has such a marvelous voice. And this thread has gotten me totally excited about seeing him in concert next month.
