i saw doseone a few months ago and loved it as a live experience, but found it didn't translate so well to CD. that guy is awesome though. great performer.
doseone is amazing!!! cLOUDEAD, and the new Subtle are among my favorites of the whole year. i have'nt heard anything i've liked on Def Jux in a while, but i'm keeping the faith.
I dig a lot of the Def Jux stuff I've heard (Hangar 18 is the shit)
isn't Sage Francis in Anticon? or not?
I know some of them are on the DJ Signify album, and that was good
I like my hip hop... well hip hop. Not Douche baggy Art Fag Nonsense that survied the "underground" movement of the late 90's. The whole DYI aspect of the genre ruined it. There was alot of good music because of that attitude, but it made everyone think they could do it. Especially those with less talent, and more money to start a label. Therefore others with talent got lost in the shuffle. With the exception of an artist or two on the above labels like Tame, the High and Mighty, and the Perceptionists. It's like the equivelent of emo in the rock world. To me at least But what do I know? I just think "underground" has eaten itself. (edit) And I can't front on Cage, and Company Flow in their prime.

i think brother ali is actually one of the best guys in that whole crowd, though i can't remember if he's on def jux or eastern conference.
Neither, he is on Rhymesayers. I love me some Def Jux. Anticon, not so much.
if i were smart i would have realized that when i saw him with Atmosphere, Micranots, and Dibbs last year.
side note: does anyone have a copy of his replacement for War Dibbs? i don't know what he named it, but it invloves juggling dnb over Killing in the Name. it's an aural kick in the balls when you listen to it and i hope for the sake of the children that there's a recording of it available.
