Frampton Comes Alive. Its was the #1 selling live record of all time. Not sure if it still is or not.

really don't care for live albums, except frampton, of course!
it might be different if there were a live album of a show i actually attended. so far, that hasn't happened.
if it's a live BROADCAST of a concert or live performance, that's a little different. those i often enjoy. i guess it's more enjoyable to me if i'm listening to it 'in the moment.'

Allman Bros - Live At The Fillmore East
Tom Waits - Nighthawks At The Diner
Sunny Day Real Estate - Live
ONE FROM THE ROAD - THE KINKS
BABYLON BY BUS - BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS
The CURE - CONCERT (well before all the pop tunes in the states)
Echo and the Bunnymen - Do it Clean (live)
It really depends on the band. Jam Bands are always great to see and hear live, because they change up the songs a little. However, punk has a harder time living up to the studio cuts. It takes a really strong punk band to pull off an outstanding live show
I'm not a big fan of live albumbs, but it's for a different reason; I hate hearing the audience - I feel so cheated that they are there, actually experiencing the concert, listening to the music, and here I am - listening to it on my own, in some room - possibly never having seen the band live at all.
I might feel different if it was the live album of a concert I was at though.

You do raise a great point. I never really thought about the cheated part until you said it.
