Eminem confirmed on New York's Hot 97 "The Angie Martinez Show" that he will be in the studio producing a new Tupac album in the coming months. Afeni Shakur, mother of the late Tupac Shakur, has given Eminem permission to use tracks from Tupac's seemingly never-ending supply of unreleased material.

Over the last few years, Eminem has broadened his focus and been producing his own tracks as well as tracks for other artists. To date, he has produced for 50 Cent, G-Unit, D-12, Jay Z, Nas, Royce Da 5'9", obie Trice, Xzibit, as well as the Tupac Resurrection album from 2003.

Yeah actually Tupac had a long career before he made it big. He recorded well over 1000 tracks of just shit. I hate his music but I found it funny that unlike other singers like Elvis who recorded only his best songs, Tupac recorded anything we wrote. It was just how he was so he has 1000 or so stored up absolute shit tracks (I mean real shit that wouldn't sell to people who liked his stuff)

Well, if you're coming from the standpoint of "Rap Sucks" or something equally nonsensical, then I guess I can see (but not understand) why you wouldn't like Tupac. However, if you like ANY rap music at all, then there's something wrong with you if you don't like him. Opinions vary, sure, but anyone should be able to acknowledge talent when they hear it, regardless of whether that type of music suits their fancy.

At a time when absolute garbage is in the Top 40s, like 50 cent, Chingy, And Lil Jon/Eastside Boyz, Tupac's stuff is a return to when rap was at its high point , i.e. the early to mid 90s. Even take away the music and READ his material and you have to acknowledge that he was a solid songwriter/poet.

There was a time when I hated almost all rap under the sun, because I felt that it was the main cause of black people being stereotyped, and it glorified a certain subculture that I despised. I used to tease my friend (a Tupac fan extremist) and say Tupac sucks this, Tupac sucks that, but in truth even I had to recognize that he had serious skill.

So, dislike him if you want, but don't dare say his music "sucks".

I'm getting the feeling Tupac isn't really dead. Maybe he watched Velvet Goldmine one too many times and decided it would be cool if he gave it a try.
