I am WRONG

If it makes you feel any better, I ripped the MP3s of the CD I own, and own practically every CD Nomeansno has put out. I'm not a big MP3 advocate, and generally hate listening to them. However, since they're an under-appreciated band, I feel that giving away their music for free and hopefully gaining new fans offsets the lamness of stealing music.

Of their later work, I really like One.

I might add that my favorites also include 0+2=1, an album that would work just as well as a rock opera and The Worldhood of the World (as such), which is probably their most straightforward rock album to date.

Fans might also be interested in checking out the Hanson Brothers, a band, featuring most of Nomeansno, that combines Canadian pop culture (i.e. beer and hockey) with the Ramones. Wonderful punk and fucking hilarious.

THIS IS THE BEST THREAD EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Ever since Nomeansno left alternative tentacles to get better european dist. I have had an impossible time getting any of their stuff here! They are litterally the best, most talented, coolest band you will ever hear! I have to speak in exclamation points whenever I speak of them, they're just that good! If you can, check out One, the other best album by nomeansno! Also, Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy, another classic! And the album they did with Jello Biafra! And their Hanson Bros. stuff! Oh my god, i need to breath!

Journal from last week

I go through cycles with bands. Being into them a lot, then not so much. NoMeansNo has been a steady favorite since I saw them on for the first time on the Mr. Happy tour. They just released a greatest hits album, so that might be a way into the entire musical greatness that is NMN. Right now, the album in heavy rotation is "Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy?".

I have practically everything NoMeansNo has done, and it's all superb stuff, and in a catagory unto itself. Not mention they are one of the BEST live bands I have seen. Everyshow kicked some serious booty, not one bad performance amongst them. They are also a band who can play for an Hour to 2 hours and it never get boring. I can't say that about 99% of the bands out today. So much classic material. If you never heard them or see them. Do yourself a favor and check NoMeansNo out. They fucking rock!
