has anyone ever heard of Ozma? they recently broke up and their bass player sold me one of his old basses. He told me that he bought it from one of their producers named Bruce Witkin. I researched the name last night and found out that it's the very same Bruce Witkin who was in Adam Ant for a while and used to be in a band named The Kids in the early 80s with Johnny Depp.

how fucking cool is that?

From the master Luthiers at NOVAX guitars......this model was designed for Charlie Hunter...it features bass strings up top and guitar strings on the bottom--enables a player to do bass runs runs while playing nice leads. Stand alone electronics and internal EQ make it a stunning guitar to play.....they also have other custom units ( a guitar/harp combo...and a bass/mandolin)

Man, that's some sexy shit. I think the guy from Miniwatt has one of those. Naturally, I'm jealous.

Here's mine:

I dig the bass -- the de-fretting makes it that much more punk rock.

I will never ever ever own this, but a friend's father, who was a prominent rock musician throughout the 60s, does own one and I spent a good deal of my teen years playing and coveting it. When I asked him to give it to me, he only laughed..

point number 1: it's a fucking chinese squier, it looks, sounds and plays like shit because it doesn't have any choice. therefor i treat it like complete and utter crap because the thing has way more value as an amusing object than it ever had as a sub-par bass.

point number 2: what's so bad about the defretting job? the only thing i can notice that you might be addressing is the little 12th fret dealy. I did have something painted there but i sanded it off to make the neck smoother and more functional. the fret holes are filled in and the entire neck surface was refinished. no modification to this bass could be considered professional, but I can show you tons worse defretting jobs.
